TRADITIONAL TO THE CONTEMPORARY
Raman started performing since her childhood years and was well known performer in Chennai before moving to the US. She was performing both solo and duo concerts with her sister in India. She has performed in prestigious sabhas (theaters) including Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Madras Music Academy, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore Fine Arts and Kalaivanar Arangam, Kapali Fine Arts, Sankarabaranam Trust, in Chennai, India. She has performed at Orissa, Bombay Shanmugananda Hall, Summer Ootacamund festival, and Dusshera-Navrathri Festival at RR Sabha in India. She has toured Nepal, Singapore and Malaysia before moving to the US. She has also performed concerts sponsored by Shipping Corporation of India, Indian Railways, Department of Tourism and at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. Raman has performed in numerous productions done by Bharatha Choodamani under the auspices of guru and director, Adyar K. Lakshman. She has done many fund raising concerts for local charities in India.
